Go for it, yams are healthier than potato.
Place some sliced yam in a large bowl with some largely sliced onion, a splash of olive oil , salt and pepper and a touch of brown sugar . Toss well to coat everything .
Simply place on a roasting pan and cover with some fool . Bake at about 375 for about 20 minutes . Remove foil and allow to top broil another 5 minutes to brown.Serve with meats fish or on its own .
